dates ongoing? Lawrance is currently from the Rupert, Idaho area (hopefully moving to the Boise area this year). He is a highly skilled natural horseman who has a very strong background with gaited horses (as well as all other breeds and disciplines.) He is available for clinics, private or group lessons, and training your horse. His resume is extensive. We will be hosting regular monthly sessions with him. Date - ongoing monthly Southern Comfort Gaited Horse Club: Meeting on January 18th at 6:30 pm, and then monthly after that. Location: Sandy Young's home in Nampa ID. It'll be a pot luck dinner with a meeting afterwards. Call for info and directions. If there is significant snow, we will need to choose a different location closer to town. The January meeting is to get things rolling for the Horse Expo as well as getting the club going again. Open to anyone with a gaited horse of any breed. day Trail Trial Rally Sandy Young will be hosting this event during
the summer and fall. It will be a combination of actual trail
work, and then arena work that will include rail work and then
your choice of games or a soccer game. It's meant to be
for the recreational rider (show riders can enter as
well) with the emphasis being on the relationship
between the horse and rider. It's open to all breeds.
You do NOT have to have show clothing or tack. Your horse does
not have to have perfect gaits. YOu do not have to be a perfect
rider. There will be 3 different skill levels from novice to
experienced and different age groups. The trail portion will
be on trails in SW Idaho in groups based on what your skill
level will be. More challenging trails for more experienced
riders and easier trails for the novice, etc. Please let Sandy
know if you have an interest in participating in this sort of
event. And if you think you'd like to host one in your area, it
would be wonderful to get a series going around the regions so
we can travel to different places to have fun on the trails and
be with our friends and get in some friendly competition as
well.
